Manny Pacquiao: The Undisputed Pound-for-Pound King


Manny 'Pacman' Pacquiao is the undisputed pound-for-pound king after knocking down Ricky 'Hitman' Hatton in round 2 of their 12-round welterweight championship match in Las Vegas last May 2. Pacquaio's win immortalized his claim as the best fighter in the planet by beating all the best fighters like Oscar dela Hoya, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera, David Diaz, Juan Manuel Marquez, and others. Floyd 'Pretty Boy' Mayweather Jr. came out of retirement to challenge Pacquaio for to determine the king of pound-for-pound boxers.

Ricky Hatton was knocked down thrice on the canvass just under two rounds in the super hyped match between the two protagonists. It was all a Pacman show. A well-crafted fight plan for a brawler like Hatton. The knockout was so devastating that the Hitman from Manchester did not what hit him. He was unconscious for several seconds after hitting the deck from a left hook from Pacquaio. Everyone was stunned of the match finale. Hatton's family and team were so concerned of his plight, but, after several minutes he eventually went up with doctors on his side. He was brought to a nearby hospital for medical examination.

All the hype and trash talking of Hatton's chief trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr., went to naught. He was nowhere to be found after the match, while his fighter struggles for his life. Freddie Roach was correct in saying that Mayweather Sr. is just only a big mouth with no winning credentials to show.

With almost all the best fighters disposed at the hands of Pacquaio, he now waits for his next mega-challenge. Everybody wants to challenge Pacquaio. Even the retired undisputed pound-for-pound king, Floyd 'Pretty Boy' Mayweather Jr., announced before the fight that he wants to fight again because he is the best among the best, the king among the kings.

Floyd Mayweather Jr and Juan Manuel 'Dinamita' Marquez are scheduled for a megafight on July 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for a 12-round welterweight boxing match. This match might determine who will Pacman faces on Oct. 17 at Las Vegas.

Nevertheless, Manny 'Pacman' Pacquaio is the reigning pound-for-pound king of the boxing world.
